Pacific Parade, Sydney
When people think of Dee Why Beach, located on Pacific Parade, their minds immediately jump to images of surfing and lying out in the sun. However, it also has a very popular picnic area that is perfect for an afternoon picnic during your day at the beach.
As far as facilities go, this spot has all you could ask for, including two playgrounds, toilets, free BBQs, and a large green space with plenty of picnic tables. It’s perfect for getting a large group together and spending the day outside.
Located right on Narrabeen Lake, this picnic spot is perfect for the whole family. Younger kids can enjoy playing at the playground while the older ones can take on the climbing frame. With plenty of shade and free BBQs to go around, Bilarong Reserve is the perfect spot for lunch with a lakeside view.
McCarrs Creek Reserve
The best picnic spots in Sydney are not necessarily the most crowded ones, and McCarrs Creek Reserve is proof of that. This spot is great if you’re looking for a more quiet picnic venue that still has all of the necessary amenities. On top of that, it’s right next to Ku-ring-gai National Park.
When you’re not eating, you can also enjoy swimming and boating in the immediate vicinity. Additionally, it’s a popular fishing spot.
Clifton Gardens is the perfect location for a picnic if you want to have a few recreational options nearby. It has a playground for the kids, as well as basketball courts, a swimming area, and even a pier for fishing.
Since this spot has a ton of excellent facilities, it’s pretty popular within the area. Fortunately, there is plenty of space and shade for everyone.
North Harbour Reserve
Enjoy the broad grassy areas at North Harbour Reserve for your next picnic. You can freely use the playground, basketball courts, and BBQs to your heart’s content.
One thing to note for this spot is that despite the beautiful views of the water, it’s not recommended for swimming. Aside from that, anything goes at this solid picnic location.
Shelly Beach is a fantastic Northern Beaches Sydney spot for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, and almost any type of aquatic fun. Beyond that, it also makes a wonderful place for a picnic. We highly recommend enjoying a picnic lunch or early dinner on top of some fun in the sun at Shelly Beach.
Shelly Beach has all of the basic facilities that you could want, including toilets, showers, tables, and nearby cafes and restaurants. If you bring your little ones, they’ll love collecting shells on the beach before or after the picnic.
Manly Warringah Memorial Park
Located right next to Manly Reservoir, this park offers visitors the opportunity to try a number of adventurous outdoor activities. Some of the most common ones include water sports and bushwalks. No matter how you decide to spend your day, you’re sure to work up an appetite that only a picnic can satisfy.
